The wilderness -- exploding with color, light, texture
OR, serene and inspiring
OR, mysterious
OR, maybe all of the above.
Add a large obsession with ‘things Oriental’ and
a delight in expressing it in art.
What this all adds up to is
Ann Arscott’s work in oil, pastel, watercolor, sumi-e
and vividly colored Chinese brush painting.
A love of Chinese Painting led her to study at the China Institute
in NYC. She has been painting in the antique style on silk and
a more contemporary style on paper.
These include the traditional
flowers, animals and landscapes.
Her oils, pastels and watercolors take in a vast spectrum of
the natural world...The Mountains, the Sea, the Canyons, the
geological story in Rocks, the Ice, the Water, the Sky……..
Ann’s work has appeared in, and won awards in, numerous
shows in New York, New Jersey and Washington…A real treat
was a show in Kyoto, Japan last summer.
Her
paintings hang in many private collections throughout the
USA.
