Larry
Eifert has been a professional painter and writer for almost 40 years.
With
over 50 murals to his credit, no artist, living or past has more art
installed in America's National Parks, and his work is seen on many
nature-oriented products from coast to coast. A third generation
naturalist, he has now sold well over 3,000 original paintings.
It's a mentoring-thing: Larry's mother was author and illustrator of 20
books, mostly about nature, was editor of a museum nature magazine for 36
years and an Audubon magazine contract writer. Her work is still in print
after 50 years.
His
father was education curator for the Illinois State Museum with a
double-masters degree in ecology and English. From this background, Larry
gained early mentoring from his parents and museum staff - and never
looked back.
His
is a continuing passion developed from many sources, from the boyhood time
spent at Rachel Carson's home in Maine to the museum babysitters who said:
"Here - draw this giraffe and don't bug us."
