Sharon Shenar, originator of Faerie Hollow Jewelry, designs uniquely feminine pieces of delicate simplicity.

Created from precious and semi-precious gems, pearls and Austrian Swarovski crystals she marries together the different attributes of various gemstones and creates pieces that facilitate and re-energize the Chakras.

"It seems I have always been fascinated with beads and putting them together to create something beautiful. My interest in beading started at my Grandmother's knee at about age 4. (This was an occupation she devised to keep me out of her hair) She set me up at the kitchen table and lay out before me all sorts of macaroni, pastas and colored yarn. All the "beads" had good sized holes in them, which made it easy for small fingers to thread the yarn through and many were shaped like flowers and were different colors. Sometimes, we would "paint" the pasta with food coloring. These necklaces were gifts that I happily gave to all relatives and family friends.

In the 60's my creations were "Love Beads" that I either sold or gave away to special friends. Over the last 40+ years my designs have turned to the more feminine and delicate. I love finding precious stones beautifully cut and faceted to incorporate into a new design. Favorites among the stones I use are Citrine; Peridot; Sapphire; Ruby; Emerald; Labradorite and Swarovski crystals. Cultured pearls are an intricate part of my designs as are the Swarovski crystals that are a sort of signature to the piece.

I believe that a beautiful necklace requires an equally beautiful clasp as a finishing touch. My designs have either a sterling silver clasp set with a gem stone to match the piece or a Vermeil clasp (gold over sterling silver).

All of my work is One-of-a-Kind. However, I do reserve the right to create a new similar piece using different stones. I am always happy to create a piece by special order.

I am a Co-Founder of Gallery 9."
